Hipped roof - ideal slope?

I have posted a photo of our house with a 28/30 degree hipped roof in the house pictures thread on p. 107 #638. From the front and back, you can see a 30 degree hipped roof and the photo was taken from a distance of 20 meters. If you look at it on the plans, it appears much steeper because you don't see it from street level. You will only be able to see a 22 degree roof from a greater distance to the house.

That's how it is. With a two-story house, you don’t see the roof when you stand in front of the house. And the distance changes the perspective...

22 or 30 degrees?! Look at the two houses and you’ll know which you prefer.

I would now try 25°. 28° would of course also be an option.

With less than 25° roof pitch, you won’t see the ridge from the street..

wanted to tell you: from about (I can’t say exactly, it varies with the flatness of your street and the possible viewing distances) 25° pitch you will only begin to see from below with a hip roof that the house actually has a sloped roof. So you don’t need to fear that if you give your wife her full 30° roof pitch, the roof would actually feel too steep for you, just because it might look like that on the plan. With 30° RP, usability for storage is already given even without a knee wall, so the garage might already shrink a bit.

28/30° means: the house is square, and the front/back 28° pitched roof is set two degrees steeper on the sides to get a pseudo ridge for zoning plan reasons?
