Hello everyone,

we would like to separate the space under the stairs with a door or an opening. Since the space is intended to be used as storage and will not be accessed very often, the "door" does not need to be easy and quick to open. It is rather important that the door is not noticeable.

Do you have any ideas on how to solve this? My idea so far is to install a drywall partition, but not screw it in firmly, rather attach it to the profiles with magnets. At one corner, I will leave a small hole so that the panel can be removed with a finger.

The railing on the right is a steel construction clad with drywall.

Why don’t you just continue , there you would also see more context right away ... (?)

Make a non-rebated door leaf cut on the flush and do not attach the door with a hinge, but rotate it on an axis at 15-25% of the door width. Of course, you will lose passage width, but you can achieve extremely narrow and hardly visible door gaps. I sketched it once with my finger.

We have excluded doors so far because on the one hand you would see the gap in the surface (and not at the side). Also, we would then need a door handle. Such doors of course look very stylish. Hmm, because it is a different topic. Generally, one should address one topic per thread so that other users can more easily find something for similar problems. Hmm, interesting idea. Thanks! We have to consider how we could realize it and then weigh the pros and cons. Sure, smaller passage width and I would have to somehow fix the axis into the parquet. So far I would favor a solution where I only have to attach sideways into the walls. But I will take a closer look.

I would solve this with 2 furniture cabinet doors. Soft-close technology without handles. Accent it with color. It also works with one door, but then it will probably be 1 m wide, which then sticks fully into the anteroom when opened.

It also works with a fixed wing; then you can build shelves behind it.
