: The heating technician already said that with only underfloor heating in the bathroom, he won't reach the target temperature of 24°, so he included a towel radiator in his offer. At first, I don’t think that’s really “wrong,” right?

But in general, I will demand a more professional calculation. If the heating technician can’t manage it or doesn’t want to do it, I might just spend some extra money and have an energy consultant do the calculation (and then tell the heating technician to implement it that way). That would be a viable option, wouldn’t it?

Since we are building with a general contractor, we are unfortunately bound to exactly this heating installer.

No! Take a professional. A suitable engineering firm that will also provide you directly with a proper letter for the waiver of ERR. The costs are in the low triple-digit euro range. But the heating engineer must then build accordingly.

What do you mean by engineering firm? Are there specialized engineering firms that focus on heating design? I thought an energy consultant should/could do exactly that...?

Energy consultant: Can only calculate energy, but cannot design heating systems. For demand calculation/design, you of course also have to specify temperatures - the standard everywhere is 20 degrees. But it’s better to use 22 degrees in the living area and 24 degrees in the bathroom. And preferably the lowest possible flow temperature - a good standard is 30 degrees with 26 degrees return. If well insulated, even less. And heating pipes come in different sizes too. A heat pump likes a high flow rate, so at least use a 16 mm pipe. Pipe spacing also plays a role, of course. It should not exceed 10 cm. And the length of the heating circuits as well. None of this can be provided by an energy consultant. Therefore, I recommend you search online for Ing. Heckmann. He is also highly recommended in another community that deals with [haustechnik] (you can find it quickly...). He is basically THE expert for DIY enthusiasts (who like to use a Panasonic Aquarea (but that’s just as an aside) and install it themselves), who deal intensively with correct planning. He can also provide you with a customized letter for waiving [ERR]. The total costs are transparent and only a few hundred euros. No comparison to possible savings on heating costs and of course less material effort with [ERR] (no material, no installation, no additional electrical work).

but quite a few things still need to be changed...

I am thinking, among other things, of the "move" from front door to office.

As I said - the floor plan is set, we have designed it according to our needs and requirements, and from our point of view it fits. You already expressed that you don’t like it back then in my planning thread. But luckily we are planning for ourselves and not for you. ;)
