Heat pump heating system or condensing boiler with solar system?

Hello,

I am currently thinking about the various heating systems and also talked about it with my uncle yesterday, who works in a company that inspects heating systems.

I questioned him about the heat pump. He said that it wouldn’t really be worth it for one household and it takes too long to pay off. Because the drilling is quite expensive and not every company has such a device.

Is it even possible to install a heat pump everywhere? Or do certain conditions have to be met in the ground?

He said if he were to build again, he would choose a condensing boiler + solar system on the roof.

What do you think?

Best regards

Heating in New Buildings

Hello Cmajere, interesting question, it is repeatedly discussed controversially, since the payback period is usually 10-12 years

Disadvantages of a heat pump.

higher one-time investment costs and forces the use of underfloor heating, since the flow temperatures are low;

Advantages:

no house connection costs for gas; no space needed for oil boilers; no annual maintenance costs for gas burners or chimney

When using an air-to-water heat pump, the costs for drilling or surface collectors and the risk that the drilling will not be approved are eliminated; these are now available for outdoor and indoor installation and the noise level has also decreased;

Best to get price quotes from the installer for your options and compare carefully.

Hello,

I have compared the various heating methods and actually decided on solar + gas condensing boiler.

How much space is actually needed? The condensing boiler is mounted on the wall ?! and for the solar system I think you need a larger boiler for the hot water?

Can the solar system only help with hot water or also with electricity consumption?

Does anyone have tips on which manufacturer is good for this combination?

Best regards

I believe there is no combination, but you don’t need much space for the boiler, I have one myself and it is about 2 sqm, no more.

HI,

I quickly checked on Google this morning. There are indeed combination options. Let's see what the developer says about it today.

Does anyone have any experience with such a combination?

Hello,
we have now been running a heat pump for one winter. The heating costs have almost halved because of it. To operate a heat pump effectively, the flow temperature should be kept as low as possible. Underfloor heating or correspondingly large radiators as well as good thermal insulation are also recommended. I would not recommend solar. The additional costs are not worth it.
When you need the heat, it is usually not there. By the way, we have a heat pump from the company Daikin (Daikin products Japan). Purchased from the company AROS with complete installation for about 7,000 EUR (with domestic hot water). There is also very competent advice there.
If you have specific questions about the installation, etc., I am happy to answer.
