The lawyer is supposed to point out the risks you take when you sign (without changes). That alone is worth their fee!
If you haven't understood the contract, you get expert advice - that's logical.
For my part, I can only say that this is money thrown away if you can't change anything. Of course, I assume that you have understood the contract and the resulting consequences. Otherwise, you shouldn't sign any contract anyway, whether it's a house contract or anything else...
If you are familiar with this subject, that shouldn't be a problem. After reviewing several house contracts, you know almost all the formulations anyway...
