Good evening everyone,

we will soon receive our purchase contract from the developer and would like to have it reviewed. What costs can one expect here? According to my research, these vary greatly. Do you have any experience with the review by [Verbraucherzentrale] or online?

I would be very grateful for tips!
Best regards

Have a specialist lawyer check it, then you'll immediately know one for later ;-). This costs a flat rate of 250 euros here.

I would clarify with the developer in advance whether substantial change requests will also be implemented. Usually, this is not the case, because why would they?

And is it really a developer or a general contractor?

This is a good tip, but it does not replace the review of the contract! Above all, he should know what he is signing; even if he cannot make any changes. (In case of doubt, one must then weigh up ... if one does not sign, one gives up this house/property).

That is correct. However, the creator of this post should at least consider what happens if the expert/lawyer finds something in the contract that should be changed. Because what is the point of spending a lot of money on various change requests in the contract if the BT categorically does not allow any changes? I think that is what Otus11’s hint is aimed at.

By the way, it was exactly the same with us. Changes were not granted, so we could have saved the lawyer. Although I must admit that my wife is a lawyer herself and therefore has a bit of experience.

I would not ask beforehand whether my contractual partner accepts changes in the contract. I already know the answer to that... or rather, he does not have to adhere to what he had agreed to.

I would have the lawyer check for "must haves" and "nice to haves" and then go into battle...
