Hello,

I am currently setting up my apartment and wanted to hang the TV on a wall. I drilled the first hole and now I'm not sure if the wall plugs are suitable for the wall, since drilling went relatively easily. From the drill dust, it should actually be gypsum (see pictures). However, the wall does not sound hollow and is about 25cm deep. What material could the wall be made of? And do normal plastic wall plugs work in such a wall?

Thanks and best regards

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! I have now drilled more holes, and encountered resistance in one hole. It sounds like stone or metal, I'm not sure. Is that possible if it is aerated concrete?
Attached is a photo. I apologize for the unclear questions, I don't know much myself and am a bit overwhelmed.

No idea what else is in the walls or what it could be. Remote diagnoses need good input ;) Maybe you should just ask your landlord what it is before drilling holes everywhere.

I've already done that, but they don't know either and I can't get access to an installation plan.. The wall separates the living and bedroom and runs vertically to the exterior wall. There are no radiators on that wall. The resistance in the hole feels like a different material. Since I got through so poorly, I stopped drilling for now. The sound is also different. When I scrape or tap with a drill bit, it sounds like metal or very hard stone. The tone is therefore very high-pitched and goes through the entire wall.

Here is a video with sound so that you can better visualize the whole thing. In the right hole, there is a metal rod-like object almost directly under the paint.. Here is a video with sound
