Hello,

we are getting a pre-wall installation in the bathrooms in front of the sinks, so that a shelf is created there. This pre-wall is usually made with such plasterboards and then tiled, right? We would like to hang vanity units on the wall. Can you simply mount them on this plasterboard construction, does it hold, or how do you do it? How did you do it?

Best regards
Sabine

Hello Sabine.

That will hold. You can either use hollow wall anchors (toggle anchors). Or a batten or profile will be installed at a suitable place in the construction where you can screw directly in. But definitely attach the washbasin to the pre-wall element.

I screwed a metal rail to the [Vorwandelement] and then hung the washbasin on it... holds great

so I practically have to know exactly where the washbasin cabinet will be screwed in before the partition wall is covered with a drywall panel and tiled?

Best regards

so for me I simply used the two threaded bolts... they stick out anyway, then the metal profile on it and the base cabinet on that and well the sink then lies on top of it

If you attach the vanity unit with toggle bolts, you just have to be sure that there really is a cavity in that area. Basically, you should properly plan the whole thing, I would say. The manufacturers actually provide good installation sketches that you can also download beforehand.

Normally, the washbasins are attached to the bolts. Either your washbasin is quite high now or you have factored this effect in beforehand.

If the washbasin is to be placed on the vanity unit, you absolutely have to choose the right combination and it has to be a "countertop washbasin." These combinations are actually intended for installations where no stud wall modules are used. Well, the main thing is that it is secure and fits!
