Hello everyone,
we are now insulating the facade (16cm EPS). The insulation is supposed to be pulled down to the height of the basement windows, so it will also run under the terrace doors; the basement itself is not heated. Now the question arises as to how we best solve the terrace exits. According to the energy advisor, we are not allowed to omit the insulation under the doors. Our builder says that we cannot lay terrace slabs on the insulation because the insulation boards cannot bear the weight. One solution we found would be an exit similar to a windowsill. Unfortunately, that would create a step. It would be nice if everything were on the same level. Does anyone have an idea or maybe has faced the same problem before?
Here is a photo showing one of the terrace doors at the bottom. Insulation is being done completely around. For the terrace, fill will be added.
