Gravel bed for terrace - Waterproofing?!

Hello everyone,

for our house (no basement, concrete slab) the terrace is due.
Gravel bed, grit, and then the covering.

Now I wonder:
Should I plaster the area of the base that will then be covered by gravel and grit in advance?
Thick coating is applied, insulation too, should I now apply base plaster there?
And then a dimpled membrane?
Or just gravel and that's it?

We had the terrace redone, as far as I could see we had a studded membrane or apron, as it is called, around the base.

Is gravel still used today? We were told a few days ago that this type of terrace installation has been replaced by a kind of plate. Four slabs rest on a plate at the intersection point.

The pedestals are called support pads. Nice thing, but you need a correspondingly level, concrete base for it (at least I wouldn’t know any other way). We don’t have that. Therefore, the "classic" approach.

Thick coating, then base plaster, dimple foil, and then mineral concrete, and preferably a drainage system in front or a birch gutter.

We do it something like that now.
An acquaintance has been a construction manager at a solid house builder for years.
He would do it "for himself" as follows:

Glue any missing Styrodur,
then base plaster/reinforcement mortar with reinforcement (because of plaster on Styrodur),
then sealing slurry and in front of that the dimple membrane.

That should be all right.
