It is certainly a matter of taste. Personally, I find wood more beautiful. But it also has to match the apartment and especially the kitchen. And for 4000€, I can also replace the countertop every few years... :D But as I said, taste and appearance ultimately decide alongside the price.

I wish you that the glass plate will still look as it does now even after several years. We were also very interested in a glass plate. However, when we were shown in the kitchen studio how the plate looks after a few years (was installed in a show kitchen), we quickly decided against the plate. We then chose a SileStone artificial stone countertop, which has a slightly roughened surface (unfortunately also very expensive).

there are 3 types of glass countertops 1. Glossy 2. Matte 3. Satin As long as it is not satin, you might be right. You won't be able to scratch the satin one, believe me :-))

So our consultant said that hitting works with glass and ceramics as long as you don't take the corners. We have just focused on granite, which is also cheaper than glass, ceramics, or quartz composite.
