Stone

Both clearly have their advantages and disadvantages. As for stone, it can be said that it is durable, low-maintenance, and beautiful. That means the investment is definitely worth it in the long run. But when it comes to handling dishes, etc., that naturally does not depend on the stone, but on oneself.

I also think stone is best. Very hot pots must be placed on it and nothing may "melt" or similar.

We will get a cast plastic sheet paper-thin (0.5 cm) that looks like stone. :)

Stone is definitely better than plastic. Wood is always difficult to clean.

Ever thought about a glass plate? I recently saw one and was very impressed - both in terms of maintenance, feel, and appearance. Also very cool is the function that you can simply hang the induction modules underneath, so there isn't even a visible transition from the countertop to the stove. :)

That is of course also a great idea. But how is it with the functionality? And is it really robust? Or just for looking at in a kitchen ;)
