Yes, back then it was at 1.9% (but that was a different bank and the offer from mid-June)

If I look now and calculate with 80% loan-to-value, the mortgage calculator tells me something about 0.98%

So far, only the building savings contract has been signed, which I could cancel again if necessary if the interest advantage compensates for the 4,000 fees.

There are always good reasons to wait. I don't buy that. Money comes and goes, time is gone. Waiting because of money doesn't seem sensible with these thoughts in mind. Enjoy the currently historically good interest rates and take action. And if someone has even better conditions in a year, then you have lived in your house for a year longer. So what. In 2001 we got a sensational four-point-something. Then came those who had a three before the decimal point. Should I be upset? The house was sold in 2019 for about the same amount of money as the purchase price, only in euros instead of DM. We lived there quite well for 18 years and the increase in value was more than satisfactory. Of course, we could have waited and hesitated and would still be renting somewhere today.

I financed in November last year, 2.3% for 15 years at 95% loan-to-value. Of course, tears come to my eyes when I see that I would get much better today (and could pay off more)... on the other hand, I moved in last week, from now on my "Kaltmiete" is constant. I tell myself, if the payment fits, it's okay and my repayment now earns 2.3% interest...
