Hello Axel,

And I find it "off" to have others work for you as a matter of course, when you could get many questions answered through the various forums here; and that exclusively because it’s too exhausting for you to invest more than a "quick glance." Quite a few users here have left a lot of reading material specifically to provide help to beginners like you...!

I pointed out to you that your post is hard to read due to missing punctuation; nothing more and nothing less. And btw. – I am not (maybe just not yet) so softened by the "new decency rules of this society" that I let you turn the tables on me

What "Karliseppel" does is up to "Karliseppel" – I often do other things than what is expected of me presumptuously. And no, I do not answer if I do not encounter a certain level of effort from the questioner. Your refusal to read the material gathered here at the main station is a slap in the face to all those who took the time to publish their experiences/help here. I do not have to support such behavior; not even as a mod.

Best regards

Hello Axel, So you find it inappropriate when we expect new users to read the existing posts – but you expect us to rewrite the same posts especially for you – so that you... then don’t even have to read them?? Or how did you imagine that?? Regards Micha

@ Axel

You haven’t answered Karlis’s question about the weight yet either. I would also like to hear the answer.

Phew, calm down again. No one is being forced here to invest time and respond. Just as you simply skip a thread if you don’t want to, can’t, or don’t want to say anything about it, the questioner can actually choose which answers to engage with. And, Axel – it is true from your text that you don’t understand much about the subject yet. That’s okay. You already distinguish yourself from many builders by at least trying to engage with it. And the question about the economic balance of the additional costs for strengthening the insulation is perfectly legitimate. The whole thing is not undisputed even in "Fachkreisen" but is regularly made absurd because no one knows how energy prices will develop. If everything continues as it has in recent years, then you won’t be able to insulate/save enough. If nuclear fusion is made technically usable tomorrow, many will have bet on the wrong horse. Just keep at it, read a lot, and always pay attention to who is telling you which story. My experience shows that very few can really show off current knowledge. The saying "we’ve always done it this way" is still far too common in construction, and also "wes Brot ich fresse, des Lied ich sing..." should be kept in mind more often when a product is presented as too good to be true. In that sense... have fun building :)

Hello,

That is absolutely correct. It is also true that I may assume that someone who is new here first "reads up." This clears up a lot of questions—especially for beginners.

Furthermore, it is correct that no one is obliged to write here. However, reality proves that many users take the time to prepare "their own experiences/mistakes" in such a way that other users benefit from them. That is the purpose of a forum like this one, and yet the HBF is very unique in the scope of the offered and free knowledge. From my subjective point of view, this is evidence that value is placed on respectful interaction here.

It follows logically that both the forum operator and the mods make sure that this "unique selling point" is not only maintained but also constantly improved.

To some extent, I can understand your reaction to my post. However, I think you and I will "postpone" any further discussion on the topic to the moment when you see the same eternal question for the umpteenth time before you (if you still feel like actively participating here then). On that date—I'm quite sure—you will remember my post in this thread and be able to follow it without comment :D

And finally—also here the visitor’s rights apply. Whoever doesn't like it in "this, our living room" can quietly use the hole the bricklayer/carpenter has planned ...

Kind regards
