Garage roof heat insulation - roof is sealed with tar paper

We have also been given the prices. Parts of the house (flat roof) need to be greened with us. We are still considering whether to do it ourselves, but I don't find it that easy at all. Just getting the granulate onto it in the appropriate thickness...

Have it done right away. Otherwise, you will have too much unwanted growth, and the seeds need to be watered regularly, how are you going to manage that?

That is actually very simple. The basement is larger than the upper floor and at the spot where it should be greened, I can comfortably reach the roof from my sitting window to water and pull weeds :) So that point doesn't worry me. We were already aware of that. Let's see. The roofer already had quite outrageous prices, the landscaper starts in the garden on Monday and, as far as I know, also offers something like that. I will ask him again about prices...

I would take the finished Sedum mats right away, then you don’t need any granulate. You only need gravel for the edge, but of course you have to carry everything up. I have calculated, if you do it yourself, it costs between 200-300€.

Since we have 60sqm of roof, we are not doing it ourselves. This year it probably won't happen anymore, they all have no time left ;) . I don't have to pay for the root barrier layer, the roofer is sponsoring it unwillingly because he made a mistake and didn't weld the right bitumen membrane ;) . So I need granulate and soil with sprout mixture. I have looked at these ready-made mats to plug in, it may be simple, but I don't want so much trash on the roof - that stuff is in plastic forms.

How do you come up with these prices? I was quoted prices of around €80/sqm for having it done and just the material alone was about €40/sqm. We have over 30 sqm of carport, which we officially have to green. If there is a cheap solution, I would be grateful for tips.
