Hello,

a quick question for those with an installed fire door or anyone who is familiar with this.

Attached is a picture. It can be seen that there is a gap at the top between the door leaf and the frame, and that the door leaf does not close over the frame as it does on the side.

Is this normal, or is the door leaf possibly too small, or maybe an installation error? The door just touches the seal at the top.

It's about the same with our T30 door :-( A friend installed it for free, so I can't really complain. If a company had installed it, I probably wouldn't have accepted it. But I think the door cost €120 (Hörmann!), so I don't expect that much.

Between the garage and the house we have a T30 RS (smoke protection). Everything fits perfectly there and no draft comes through. But that one cost six times as much.

In my opinion, this should not be normal. In addition, a RS door should cost at most twice as much.

The first 5 results on Google showed a price of about €650 + shipping for a Hörmann T30 RS door.

Hello expose

the door is not installed according to standards.
You will not get it approved like this. The door leaf must completely cover the frame. The seal must not be visible.
I can't imagine that the door and frame belong together.

Hello,

contrary to Steven's statement, this is normal. I have a brand new T30 door in stock (I just checked) and it is the same. The door has no 'overhang' at the top, which is why there is always a gap between the door and the frame.

However, the frame has an 'inside' overhang so that the door closes tightly. At least with the door I have here in stock.

Since the gaps between the door and the frame cannot be adjusted, the gap size is predetermined by production.

If you take a closer look at your door, you will see this.

Here are 2 pictures for that

As mentioned, the door is in stock and is brand new. You can clearly see that it has no overhang at the top.
