We like different options.

1) Railing like in the picture with a rail
2) Railing that visually comes directly out of the floor (as mentioned, costs 1250 euros per running meter at the stair builder)

I will contact various locksmiths and glaziers tomorrow. Maybe one of them will be suitable

Your picture shows exactly the kind of profile I used. I would just make sure that it is an L-profile. Advantage: The L shape makes it easy to maintain the edge distance to the concrete edge, and the stiffness against bending is further increased. I screwed it directly onto the raw concrete slab and offset it 40mm back at the edge. Background: I didn’t want the profile to be visible. I then placed a box in front of the profile using Knauf drywall profiles and clad it with plasterboard panels. The whole thing is currently only plastered, but you can already guess that the look of the railing coming out of the floor will be great.

Hello,
we also have the same glass railing as in the picture with the L-profile. Same reason as mertmk3. Ours was a bit more expensive because I wanted the 2.9m glass in one piece. I ordered it online and it was relatively easy, and you have to approve the final construction drawing, so normally no mistakes should happen. I set the profile with the top edge 5mm higher than the finished floor because that way I still have a small finishing edge. Additionally, I placed an LED strip under the glass railing (it costs almost nothing), but I don’t yet know how it will look and if I will use it. If you want the online shop contact, just send a private message.

What does the 2.9m long glass panel weigh? It's probably safety glass... I'm curious how many people you need to install it. I also don't quite understand the LED strip thing. Do you just place the glass panel on top of the strip? Aren't you afraid that the LEDs will get crushed and broken? Are you installing everything yourself, or is it delivered and installed?

So the glass plate weighs 120kg and is installed by four people (you also need good glass suction cups for it). The glass pane has no direct contact with the bottom of the profile (it must not have it due to stresses) but is clamped laterally in the profile with rubber wedges. The installation itself is not rocket science, just somewhat unwieldy and heavy. However, if you set up a scaffold in the airspace

I also have 2.9m glass width in one piece, costs almost exactly 600€ including shipping online for 17.52mm laminated safety glass made from tempered safety glass. The weight should be almost 140kg.

Installation with rubber wedges as described. We'll see how it works in terms of weight, but I think it should be possible with four or five people.
