The major part of the price increase comes from the flight of capital from low interest rates into real estate. There are so many who inherit or where the money simply lies stupidly in the family account; coupled with low interest rates, and then things took off.

You can especially see this in property auctions. These are not people who are struggling to make ends meet.

I don’t know how high the increase rates were in the past, but if I now compare the Ytong price lists 2018 and 2019, the prices for the stones have risen by about 8.5%. I don’t even want to calculate where the prices will be in a few years.....

Wow 8.5% in one year? I'm starting to think everyone is going crazy...

My window manufacturer raised prices by about 10% from 2017 to 2018.

It's crazy what's going on right now. And no end in sight.

I'm really glad that I'm almost done and all the offers from the major trades are already fixed or completed.

We are at the end of an economic cycle. Now it’s "Take your money and run." What will have a cost-dampening effect in the future? - Commercial construction will decline. - Single-family house construction will stagnate due to lack of building land and skilled workers, albeit at a good level, but stagnate. - Additionally: High prices now deter prospective builders. It will no longer be affordable. The price-value perception no longer matches. That’s my assessment. Karsten

My personal opinion. I see prices in private construction/purchase easily rising by another 20% until the end of 2020. In 2020, private construction/purchase will really be heavily charged because everyone still wanted to take advantage of the [Baukindergeld] before it ends. After that, there will be a slight dip. What happens after the end of 2020 is really a crystal ball and strongly depends on the interest rate development.
