Hi,
hm. An argument, no question. In this case, however, I think the reddish tint is deliberately chosen. As you already say, a white-washed birch front actually tends to turn more yellow. Under certain circumstances, it looks as if too much smoking has occurred in your kitchen. :cool:
In the end, though, it's just a guess from my side. Take another look at the front in person and then decide.
