Hello everyone,

does anyone have experience with a freestanding bathtub?
It looks nice in inspiration pictures, and my wife really wants to have it :)
The approximate floor plan is attached, 12 sqm.
The possible cons are:
- are there really so many problems with dirt and cleaning, even if a sufficient distance from the wall is maintained?
- how does it look visually in a 12 sqm bathroom? just as nice or rather inappropriate?
- how much more expensive is it compared to the normal variant? I understand that there is an endless range upwards, but for orientation: double, triple, ten times as expensive? Considering the installation of pipes/tubes under the screed, etc.

Thank you very much for your opinions!
Best regards
Nils

No.

About as if a person weighing 147 kg thinks they still fit into size M extraslim ;). I would consider one meter distance to the walls as an absolute minimum and plan 25 sqm for the bathroom.

Not much more expensive, since you only need one tub that stands on the floor. All other work for the otherwise necessary bathtub niche is omitted. And the pipes don’t care whether they end at the tub or in the wall. Bathtub fittings cost significantly more.

I don’t see any freestanding tub in your bathroom at all...

Sorry.

Hello, it certainly looks super modern and stylish but it obviously takes up a lot of space in a 12sqm room. However, with the space to the wall, there should be no problems with cleaning.
Best regards

Which space to the wall? Do you mean the 10-15cm clearance that the bathtub has here? Cleaning behind it will be difficult with the tight squeeze.

I find freestanding bathtubs visually very beautiful - if there is enough space. The cleaning effort speaks against it for me. No one would install a floor-mounted toilet anymore because dirt simply accumulates there and it is a pain to clean. If you don't clean yourself, it's probably different ;)

I have no experience with it because we consciously decided against it. I think it has to do with the feeling of whether you want to feel protected in the bathtub, more like in a kind of shell, or whether you need free space all around. It could be, regardless of fashion, a question of the type.

The freestanding bathtubs look very chic and extremely good, I am also enthusiastic about them, but whether you actually feel good and can relax in them, I do not know. For myself, I answered the question with "no." It is hard not to be impressed by a nice appearance.

Cleaning would not be an issue for me if I found the tub great.
