Hello everyone. I am new here in the forum but have already read a lot here regarding our major renovation.

About our problem. A walk-in shower was installed. I have to say right away it was not by me but by my uncle, who is actually a trained tiler. I was not always present during the construction work. The shower was tiled after all the preparatory work with the proper slope. So far, so good. I have now laid the floor in the rest of the bathroom (vinyl), built and installed the shower wall, etc. Now I wanted to finally seal the shower with sanitary silicone and then I noticed a huge problem to which my uncle just shrugged. At the beginning of the shower, the floor (tile and vinyl covering) is even. Also fine so far, but the slope was made only in one direction and therefore I now have a wedge at the edge that is not covered by anything. At the lowest point it is 2 cm. What can I do here to make the whole thing watertight?

Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures right now because I am on my honeymoon. However, I found a picture of the tiled state. The slope is marked at the red indicated spot. Everything without tiles has already been covered with vinyl and the shower enclosure is already mounted and standing on the vinyl.

I hope you can help me with this problem.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Best regards

EDIT I just noticed that the picture did not work out like that. The internet here is great….not ^^ I hope you understand what I mean anyway.

Without a picture, it will be difficult to make a statement.

Hello,
I am not sure since it is a bit speculative without a picture. I assume you have a level shower channel and the wedge that forms is between the 'normal bathroom level' and the level shower (it is the same for me). There are special 'tile profiles' specifically for this that are installed BEFORE the tiles. These profiles have a slope of 2cm/meter and cover exactly this edge. However, you would have had to install them before tiling. Left side profiles are frowned upon here but just Google 'Aqua Keil'. If you want to install a glass partition, there is also a profile for that called Aqua Glas.

Hope this helps you. If not, please send pictures.

Thank you very much for the information. I am unfortunately currently on my honeymoon and not at home, otherwise I could have done that with the picture. But exactly the situation you described is present, only that this exact profile was not installed in front of the tiles. The question now is unfortunately how to get the proverbial cow off the ice and solve the problem. I really hope for your help and suggestions because otherwise I cannot use the shower and that is unfortunately the only one at the moment. Therefore, I am also trying to solve the problem now on vacation so that I can fix it immediately afterwards.

Can't you tile all the way down to the floor? Or does the side face the open space? If yes, can a panel be cut to match the contour of the floor?
