Hello,

for us it is clear that we only want tiles in the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the utility room. For the other rooms, we would like a warmer floor covering. We have planned for underfloor heating.

Since we have a smaller but lively dog, we are wondering how scratch-resistant vinyl or cork are. Are there any experiences with dogs?

Thank you very much

Marko

For a warming floor covering, I recommend poor insulation :D

I have an experience: a live police drug dog destroyed the entire parquet floor with its claws during a search in a house... Ok, he was also excited because he found something ;) It would also happen with vinyl and cork, I'm sure of that!

Hi,
we also have two dogs and faced the choice of which flooring to use in the new house.
Cork was immediately off the table, I saw it after about a year at friends’ place and it was just no good, unfortunately.
Well, and vinyl was first highly recommended to us for being robust etc., but when you look at it at work or at acquaintances’ after a few years, we also found it to be totally scratched up.
Supposedly it wouldn’t be like that, but I ultimately compare it to our current floor (tiles) and it loses.
That’s why there will be tiles again in the new house.

Best regards, Tina

Then it was cheaper vinyl – good, high-quality vinyl has industrial quality and a dog doesn’t scratch it at all.
