There is hardly any planning error visible here – except for the bathroom and of course the budget, which does not match the size of the house.

And that is all a matter of taste. For example, I already think that 300 sqm of space (including the basement) for 4 people is a planning error. But that is my personal opinion, and by the time the children have left the house, the OP will know what I mean.

Well, if he can hire someone who keeps it clean, it's fine :D

Then you sell the house and look for something of the right size.

Planning mistakes are too small living/dining area and dark living space. 300 sqm all inclusive is okay if that’s what the builder wants and – I repeat – the wallet allows it.

We have meanwhile discussed it with an external architect and three families with the same living room. All statements say it will not be dark. So I do not take it personally.

In my opinion, 300 sqm is clearly a planning error. Often unused rooms, high heating costs, and high purchase price with little added benefit compared to, for example, a total of 200 sqm.
