Good day,

after a long time, the topic of house construction is becoming serious for us again.
Thanks to the KFW300 upgrade and several available plots near us, building is now fundamentally feasible for us.

I understand that my current question cannot be answered 100% precisely, as I cannot name a specific example plot and therefore topics such as orientation cannot be taken into account.

At the moment, we want to find out what we like and what we need.

While there are countless floor plans for bungalows and rectangular single-family houses, I currently cannot find any for my desired house type.

I imagine a single-family house with the following parameters and initially only need sample floor plans for it:
L-shape
Gable roof
approx. 160 sqm
open kitchen with dining-living area
ground floor office and utility room
upstairs 3 bedrooms + bathroom

Is it generally possible to partially convert the attic for this house type? This should become a guest room and backup room for a third child's room.

Do you happen to know where I can find this, or does anyone have ideas for a floor plan?

Google is your friend. Search for terms like floor plan single-family house L, etc.
By now, every floor plan that house building companies offer as standard is available online.
Architectural plans are not included.

Basically, _everything_ is possible. The more elaborate the construction and technical installations (that is: expandable roof, insulation, heating, stairs, electricity and windows), the more living space you can create. It’s all a matter of money.

However, it seems your dream house is somewhat out of reach of your budget if you rely on funding.

You don’t initially need a sample floor plan, you first need a construction company.
Oh, what am I saying: first of all, of course, the plot of land!
(Ps. It should also be a more generous size for an L-shaped house)

Regarding 1)
I have been googling for several days now, in German and English. I have not found anything. Hence my inquiry here.
Regarding 2)
I assumed that the building body would be narrower and that it might therefore not make sense to create living space in the attic.
Regarding 3)
Let’s put it this way: the funding is helpful, not absolutely necessary. Much more important are the plots that became available because many financings fell through. So the timing is actually favorable. For that reason, we can currently also choose plots and are not tied to just one.

And exactly for this reason, I am interested in studying examples of such floor plans, without wanting to adopt them exactly.

The alternative is a Frisian house with a rectangular building body; some ideas have already taken shape, which a general contractor can calculate for us.

Most of them are bungalows or mega large villas. Neither fits my project. Regarding the style question: Man vs Woman :-)

Then you have to put a little more effort into the search ;). Sorry. On the silver platter, sometimes there are also other things you don’t like or here: that are suitable for you. Or you go through all the house-building companies and look for the house in L-shape. Save the trip to the architect until you know exactly what number your plot has (meaning the development plan, plot dimensions, and orientation)
