Hello everyone,

we are currently finalizing the floor plan of our house, and we keep stumbling over a corner where we are still undecided about the planning.
It concerns the wall/door from the hallway on the ground floor to the living/dining/kitchen area. It is important to us that the hallway and the stairwell are separated from the living area by a door. Attached you will find the floor plan as the wall and door are currently planned. What bothers us is that there is no direct access from the kitchen to the pantry. In red, we have (very professionally ;-) ) planned an alternative, but we see a conflict between the door and the staircase. Also, we haven’t come up with a good option yet to open the door into the living area instead of the hallway without it being in the way there.
The door cannot be placed on the other wall towards the kitchen either, because the kitchen furniture would be in the way there.
Therefore the question to you: Do you have a good idea on how this could be solved?

Thanks in advance and have a nice evening!

As I see it, you have a general floor plan and space problem.
Living/Dining/Cooking on about 30 sqm (is it even that much?).
The more compact the floor plan is, the more capable the planner has to be.

Pantry under the stairs is nonsense. And it’s not 3 sqm either. The entire area under the stairs is, but you can’t use it completely.

How far along is the planning? Is this just supposed to be the finishing touch? Phew…
When I see the living area right in front of the (expensive corner) window…

Please show everything. Ground floor/upper floor…

Is there any objection to a sliding door (running inside the wall)?

The living area is approximately 41 m2 and the huge living area will not come as shown. This is still the furnishing suggestion from the architect. Here it is really only about the final refinement of this one wall/door; we are very happy with the rest of the entire layout.

Thank you for your idea! It would be possible in the wall where the TV is currently displayed. However, it does not solve the problem that there is no direct access from the kitchen to the pantry. A sliding door into the stairwell would be nice, but unfortunately not feasible :(

Why not now? If you want ideas, you have to explain a bit more precisely why and how.
