Hello, we have bought a plot of land of 2500 sqm, on which there is an old house with a footprint of about 4m x 8m with a pitched roof. The windows and roof were renovated in 2000. I want to use this as a workshop and the attic as storage space. Accordingly, I created a floor plan with the program meinHausplaner. The hobby room and garage are only one story with a flat roof, which can be used as a roof terrace from the upper floor. I am curious to hear what you think about it. The double wall between the house and garage does not exist; it was created by the program. What can be seen in the living room on the left in the wall is supposed to be the fireplace, which can be operated from both the hobby room and the living room. Best regards, Ronny

Hi,

yes...........

well, I don't want to criticize you, but you could put a little more effort into the drawing.
So this door in the wall between the living room and the hobby room is a fireplace? And this chimney flue runs halfway through the exterior wall at the top?
The staircase is somehow completely off course. Looks like it was just placed in randomly. And how do you actually get into room 1?

I would also be interested in views and sections......

Regards

Hello Ronny,

I know the program, you can get even more out of it

Set up the house! You will already have problems fitting a toilet and a sink in the ground floor toilet alone.
Likewise in the shower/toilet room in the workshop. Maybe a sink and a toilet will fit there, but definitely no shower.

In my opinion, some of the windows are also too small. In the kitchen (after all, almost 20 sqm), a small 1m window is planned. In our current kitchen-living room (about the same size as yours) we have 2 x 1m windows and the room faces south. But on rainy days it is quite dark inside.

The living room seems to be about 3 m wide at its narrowest point. That looks very little. If I have a pure living room with 34 sqm, I don’t just have a two-seater sofa and two armchairs in it. A large corner sofa takes up quite a lot of space there.

Where will your cloakroom be?

The windows also don’t seem to be symmetrical. With the program you can also look at the house in 3D view. It probably doesn’t look really good.

The windows upstairs are also too small. Do you want to light room 6 only through the small skylight?

Regards,
Jaydee

The load-bearing walls should be aligned. You have a window width of 1 meter everywhere. It can be done better and more thoughtfully. Everything can be done more thoughtfully. Just leave out the measurements for us (except for a few main dimensions, which are currently missing), they only confuse and are not really important at this stage.

Well, anyone who knows the program surely also knows that it’s not that great and there are some limits for freeware programs.

South is where the front door is, unfortunately also the street side.

The attic of the old house will only be accessible from the outside, it’s just a storage room or something, it’s just there.

The roof of the hobby room and garage will be a flat roof, if possible accessible from the upper floor of the house as a roof terrace.

The chimney is located on the outer wall, from which it will be operated from the living room and the hobby room.

The bathroom on the ground floor should only have a toilet and a sink, it can even be smaller, I’ve seen that many times, you can get around like that as a heating and sanitary service technician.

Room 6 will be the bathroom, possibly with 2 skylights.

The vertical thin line is the program’s boundary field, unfortunately it can’t be removed, sorry

Regards Ronny
