Fixing small issues or is that then tacit acceptance?

Hello everyone,

my building acceptance is coming up soon. Slowly you start to get materials, buy curtain rods, etc. Today I want to screw on the house number and mount the mailbox because the post office is constantly asking.

Can I already put small things inside the house and drill the two items, or will that later count as tacit acceptance?

Best regards, Redsonic

I would wait a little longer. A small corner or room for storing work materials is allowed by arrangement. EL as well. But the house number and mailbox would naturally belong to the move-in from my gut feeling. Not infrequently I see a house number printed on paper in the window or a provisional(!) mailbox already for incoming mail.

For the few days, we simply printed the house number and hung it in the window.

I wouldn't drill anything yet either. Just buy a ground sleeve for driving in plus a small beam and screw a cheap mailbox onto it. You can then also stick the house number onto it.

House number in DIN A4 in the window and I had screwed the mailbox to a Euro pallet back then. They are lying around on almost every construction site. Just put one pallet flat on the ground, place another one upright on top of it and screw them together. Then attach the mailbox to it. It doesn’t tip over so easily with the current winds. I wouldn’t really mount anything big in the house yet. Anything installed now could possibly cover up a small defect during the inspection that might then be overlooked.

So that you can already start, you can try it like some acquaintances of mine did: They had an inspection done in two parts. So they approved the current status, recorded the remaining work from the construction company on the protocol, and approved that at a later date. In between the two inspections, certain tasks could already be completed without covering up something that could be overlooked later. However, they also had an expert on hand who did his job well from the beginning and reported and had defects corrected in the meantime. That made the "double inspection" relatively safe.

If I, as a customer, had such millimeter men, I would also be as miserable as they often are as BU. I already see defects as they arise and then say something. Now, shortly before acceptance, forcefully searching for something is like the type of people who book the bargain trip with alltours and on the first day walk through the resort with their iPhones looking for mold, dust, and cockroaches, snapping pictures just to get half of the bargain price back, which rightly leads to the hotelier having an asthma attack.
