Comparable profession to mine, or partner with the same profession as you.

We invested a lot of money for a long time in further training and setting up 2 practices. We managed that without large loans = learned to save.
In our early 40s, we bought a condominium because we didn’t dare to take on a house due to lack of time and energy. There were also 2 children in the household at that time.
In our early 50s and now with stable and good income (and more calmness), it was clear that a change had to happen again.
Now it was also possible to hire an architect who took a lot off our hands so that we could continue to earn money.
So we bought a nice old building and renovated it according to our dream.
I have learned for myself that everything in life has its time and some things need time.

Sylvia

How old are the children? Of course, it makes a difference whether we are talking about 6- or 8-year-olds or about ü12 years (sorry, I naturally assume that you don't get an iPhone at 8 yet ;)) Maybe one should also classify food together with cosmetics in a different category than per capita consumption..

hmm I don’t know what kind of place you guys have at the moment, but 600 € (+-) KM doesn’t seem like much to me, so a single-family house doesn’t seem worth it in my opinion...

Hello,

the children are 2, 4 and 8 years old.

Financially, a single-family house is probably not worthwhile compared to renting, but for me it would be a significant increase in quality of life because I could develop more in gardening (vegetable garden, pond, ornamental plants, later possibly a greenhouse and conservatory, etc.), that has always been my dream. ([Schrebergarten] is not an option)

I can understand that very well. It is a very good balance to the daily work. However, in my experience, it can quickly lead to the next overwhelming situation if you have too many shifts, a child is sick, and everything has to be harvested and made winterproof. For that reason alone, for us only something was an option where the garden is directly at the house.

I think in 1-2 years, there can be a good search or even building. Until then, maybe a few additional shifts could increase the equity (that's how it was for us).

Hello, in my field of expertise there are no shifts. Advantage: regulated working hours, but disadvantage: also less money.
