I am a trained IT specialist in application development. I am currently studying computer science part-time at the distance university.

This is probably why the wage difference can be explained.

Well, and he is not located in Frankfurt. I don't find the salary that unrealistic, of course there is room for improvement, he is also still studying on the side. Apart from that, I see the financing as being in the green zone. As a comparison to the evaluation of your offer: the best simple annuity loan under your conditions (95% financing) is at 2% for 15 years at Hypovereinsbank.

a bit off-topic 2600 net for a trained software developer is okay. It always depends on the industry and the location. Why should/must everyone study? So with 50k gross per year one is already "badly paid" here in the forum??! ... well, if you look at the TVöD pay tables or something, there is almost no non-graduate in that class ... btw: the banking sector is one of the highest paying industries in DE!!

I also find this constant "you earn too little, find something new" out of place. The situation is as it is. And this is about opinions on a specific situation. Whether someone in Frankfurt earns X€ more per year is a completely irrelevant piece of information for the (currently increasing number of) OPs. In the end, only dissatisfied people leave the forum again, who daily wonder if they might be underpaid. Personally, I find €2,600 net at 27 years old very good.

On Topic: I find the rate of €950 + additional costs somewhat high given the total income. But it also depends on when your wife starts working more again.
