Short addendum:
Were at the notary, purchase contract for the land is signed.
and if it gets tight, you can stop the 900.-€ from the tax-subsidized retirement provision and if it gets really tight, you can also dissolve it. I am almost sure that this is not a good investment. For you, neither Riester nor Rürup is worthwhile and everything else is even worse
I have a reduction planned for emergencies. Dissolving and stopping is not possible. These are professional pension schemes, contributions beyond the minimum.
What do you expect? New Schwanstein opposite? A lake instead of forest?
(My girlfriend is also very theatrical. Like on a pity trip. Sometimes that is unbearable)
Somewhat OT, but what I wanted to get at: This is normal here. When I poked around (village communities), I found half a dozen similar plots of land. All in a similar price range. All rural. I like it, otherwise I wouldn’t be here.
You at least seem to have a choice. Others have to stay near the city for work, so you pay 6-10 times as much for a plot half as big. …
Also OT:
We almost always have a choice. Every decision, including staying in the city for professional reasons or reorienting professionally, then has consequences. Which ones are important to us is the question. (From my observation, the main reasons are rather family, friends, habit, infrastructure, or fear of change behind the “have to stay here or there.” Some of these are also legitimate concerns – but work was rarely the reason in my experience.)
