Thank you for your efforts! Sounds exciting. Would you mind putting your words into a very rough hand sketch? Dimensions don’t have to be precise, just for orientation. The approach is also nice and should be maintained. Without looking and just in my head: The garage stays, gets a roof with a basement replacement room/storage room. The current storage room will be halved in size and will become technology and pantry. Kitchen in this area to the terrace, current kitchen becomes dining area with windows facing south and southwest. WC swaps with the stairs. In addition, the entrance door will be moved from the stairs further up on the plan. This would then also connect to technology/pantry with a large hallway and wardrobe space and access to the kitchen and dining area. (Dining area is semi-open to the stairs?) The bay window is not necessary, can be a half to one meter deep and as wide as the bedroom needs as a relief. But it should not cut through the already small plot anyway. Office and living room remain. Note that the WC is now also there near guest/office. (Upstairs children’s bathroom and stairs swap. However, one should consider and question whether a children’s bathroom is necessary. Children’s rooms could stay (one can still be straightened a bit...) ) I would, however, place the children’s rooms in the south and west, thus facing the garden. Where the children’s rooms are now, then the parents’ area. When entering the bedroom, look at the bed, no south window. Align the façade at the front so that there is a simple, straightforward roof. Set garage somewhat apart from the main house. Quite a bit of area will be saved this way. The storage counts towards the garage ;)
