Well, that’s not possible... did you mistype the numbers?

@Mycraft

Well, not exactly a typo, but expressed a bit too casually. Of course, the KfW20 level does not exist. I meant to say that according to the energy certificate, the house has 20% of the primary energy demand of the maximum value according to the Energy Saving Ordinance 2009. This is achieved by using passive house components, mainly well-insulated building envelope (walls, roof, floor slab, windows). We do without expensive ventilation technology with heat recovery, etc. Also without photovoltaics and solar for hot water/heating. Officially and according to the energy certificate, it is therefore a KfW40 house.

I prefer to forego the hyper-expensive insulation and gladly take the heat pump (which by the way is not that expensive) + small photovoltaic system for self-consumption + controlled residential ventilation. Gas would be too expensive for us in the long run (since I assume rising gas prices). Besides, we cannot open the windows regularly enough during day and night to achieve a reasonable indoor climate.
Philosophies are that different - and probably not much difference in price either...

Well, to each their own... I have insulated "normally" and had a central controlled residential ventilation system installed... Heating system is gas + solar thermal...

I simply assume rising electricity prices, and they will most likely come faster than higher gas prices...

The additional costs for the controlled residential ventilation system were by far lower than more insulation, etc., and the operating costs of the controlled residential ventilation system are simply laughable... the utility value of the controlled residential ventilation system, compared to all other measures, is from OUR perspective much higher.

But well, I also only have a Kfw 70 house...

We see it the same way (therefore also photovoltaics)!

Hello everyone,
well, I don’t know if the operating costs are just laughable.
After all, the ducts of a [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] also have to be cleaned, don’t they?
In a report, I read that a [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] that is not properly maintained can become a breeding ground for germs.
Filters also have to be replaced quite often.
I do think that quickly 200 - 300 € can add up per year. Without electricity!
I think you can also ensure a healthy indoor climate if you choose, for example, a wall construction that can absorb and release moisture.

Regards, Frank
