Hello Jay-man,
Thanks for the feedback.
I am already quite a bit further with my Eiffel Tower idea. Thanks for the positive encouragement! I have only just found out that apparently Ikea sold a similar photo of the Eiffel Tower a while ago in the Ikea PREMIÄR series in the size 140x200. However, it has not been available for a long time.
I bought the usage license for a similar photo of the Eiffel Tower in Paris from fotolia for €8 and am currently having a gallery-wrapped canvas print in 120 x 120 cm produced by digiposter. The canvas photo is printed on real cotton canvas and stretched on 4.5 cm thick beech wood stretcher bars and delivered ready for presentation and hanging in genuine handcrafted quality, so it is not a mass product but individually made for me. I am really excited. I received comprehensive advice via a normal local phone call, no 0180 or even worse 0900 numbers, and can pick up my finished photo artwork later this week.
Oh yes, the whole 1.44 m² fun costs well under €190, which I simply thought was worth it. Here is a preview of my motif which I converted to black and white:

I haven’t seen such an IKEA Premiär picture myself yet. How is it printed? With water-based or solvent-based colors? The Premiär frame still has to be assembled, right? Is it wood? I would be interested in the difference compared to my just ordered ready-to-go picture. My digiposter canvas is really handcrafted, stretched on a real stretcher frame, and can also be tightened later using the wedges if it ever becomes loose.
