So, I will lay out the facts again here:

- We have already decided, we can live with the joint pattern
- There was a retention on the total invoice of €2000 with a note about later final clarification
- Now the boss of the tile studio was at the tile setter masters' conference in Bad Griesbach and supposedly talked to experts there about the issue
- He now says that a €1500 retention would be the absolute maximum and we could decide whether to keep €1500 (so pay another €500) or he has the floor redone and we make no retention
- We now have concerns about the warranties of the other trades (painters, doors, sanitary) if we do not agree to the €1500 and he redoes it
- Furthermore, I wonder if he really thinks it will be cheaper for him to redo it rather than keep the €2000 retention.
- Our trust in this tile company is gone; if he really wants to redo it, then definitely not with the tile setter who messed it up. Just the fact that only one tile setter was on site with us and took a total of 9 weeks for 3 complete bathrooms was more than cheeky.

This was noticed immediately after laying the tiles. However, since the tile studio let so much time pass until now, the other work naturally continued.

Demand that any possible painting and sanitary work be carried out by professional companies or you want it in writing that he assumes the warranty

He will not do it new

Remove and dispose of tiles
Prepare the substrate
New sealing
New tiles
Tile laying
Painting and sanitary work

If it is not about 3 sqm of floor, the costs exceed 2000 euros

He is bluffing. The builder has no more money, now he is looking. Before he pays the 2,000 euros he gives me 500 euros. He assumes that money is more important to you than new

It would be about 4m² of floor.... would the door frame also have to be removed for that? Everything is already finished, sealed with silicone, etc.....

Take the 1500,- and that's that. Starting over would just mean trouble again, bet?

I would leave it and not pay another euro. Especially since I would be much more afraid that the floor sealing can no longer be properly connected to the existing structure. No matter how much effort the boy puts in.

At some point I have the same problem, only some floor tiles are loose. That means we have to tackle it sometime. But the connection of the sealing worries me a lot. And my tiler is willing to do it.

With you, the tiler will have absolutely no desire to renew it. Accordingly, the result will look shoddy...
