Hello,

we would like to install an outdoor wall light next to our front door (visible from the street) and outdoor wall lights behind the house on the terrace.
Now we are not sure whether we should choose up-/down light or direct light (or maybe different solutions for the different areas).
Direct light might illuminate more, but maybe you get blinded and annoyed after a while, for example, when sitting on the terrace facing that direction.
Perhaps an adjustable up-/down light would be better then (e.g. ip44 slat so that you know what I mean).
What are your experiences?

Thank you very much in advance!

I have the Philips Tuar on the terrace side and a Steinel L22 at the entrance.

I dealt with the topic for a very long time and never really got anywhere. Then, while browsing, I spontaneously saw and ordered the ones mentioned above.

Thanks for the tip!
I really like the Philips Tuar.
Would you say the brightness is sufficient, even if you’re sitting outside in the dark and eating something, for example?

Looks great! A motion detector is already useful. How does it look, can the lamp also be switched on independently of the motion detector, i.e. if I want to have light outside constantly but not always be in the sensor area? And how would the switch to the motion detector then work? P.S. I would probably need the motion detector for the terrace rather rarely because I have switches in the house at the terrace doors with which I can simply turn the lamps on/off.

We have the SLV Meridian. I found it important that the light source can be replaced.
