Hello,
we somehow still aren't making much progress with the design of the exterior facade for our new house.
My husband and I unfortunately have quite different tastes, and we are currently trying to find a compromise (he prefers modern, metal, gray, and I more country house :eek.
I have attached our exterior views and the brick we have chosen.
The roof should be dark (matte anthracite or dark brown).
What color would you choose for the windows?
And does anyone have ideas for the elements that are partially drawn between the windows in our views?
I think it actually looks quite nice when the large brick surfaces are interrupted.
But we haven't come up with a brilliant idea yet about what would be best to use there.

We are open to any comments and ideas
You get blind to everything yourself after a while, the longer you ponder and plan...

1. Windows: I would choose anthracite or gray (e.g. RAL 7016) 2. Interruption of clinker surfaces: Wood paneling, color depends on your final clinker decision (maybe new ideas will come up )

So, unfortunately we still haven't really made any progress with the facade... We have now thought about maybe completely facing it with clinker bricks, without any facade cladding in between. And then sandstone window sills and possibly a row of bricks offset or something like that in the clinker, so that it is somewhat loosened up. But our architect says that's not possible. The house would then look like a big block. He says something absolutely has to be done to interrupt the clinker and loosen up the whole thing. What do you think about that? Does anyone possibly have a similarly large house that is completely faced with clinker? Or any ideas?

I have attached a picture of how we could imagine it. A similar clinker (brick), white windows, sandstone window sills and a dark (anthracite) roof and possibly a dark front door.

And here a staggered row of bricks, roughly how we meant it

Our clinker brick block stands out in the landscape and we are already satisfied with it. Well - we also have a gable roof with knee wall and no coffee grinder

I can understand the desire for a modern, casual chic, but so far I have rarely come across a "facade design" where I thought "oh, ah" .. if something stays in memory, it is rather the very odd things "aha, an architect's house, that looks strange"

What does your architect say - besides not liking pure clinker? Mixed facades are probably common - clinker at the bottom, wood or plaster at the top. You can also break it up with larger glass surfaces or verticals - for example, work with wood or metal above a window going upwards.
I have also seen "slanted" wooden additions - for example, a shed or a garage.
Search for "dimke Architekt" - there is a developer and an architect - he has very "expressive" architecture, maybe that gives some inspiration.

When I look at the surrounding houses from my living room, there is little design.

I would quite like such rows of stones or script images and they would be sufficient. Eventually, plants, etc., will come around the house as well.

I actually also think that it should look completely clinker-bricked.
I'm not really into the very modern style anyway, and I could imagine that with the window sills and a yearly stone in sandstone it would look quite friendly.
Not a typical modern townhouse, but rather classical.
At the very top here in my initial question, you can see how the architect wanted to interrupt the clinker (mainly between the windows).
I quite like it like that in the renderings as well.
But so far, it is difficult to find the right material, color, etc. That all has to match the rest of the house again. That is quite a bit more complicated than if it were simply clinker-bricked all the way through.
The architect is now definitely finishing the renderings with complete clinker bricking. Then you can already get an impression of how it would look ; )
