Hello,

has anyone here had experience with Termisto Swift?
Floor heating channels milled into the screed afterwards.
Thermisto apparently checks the screed in advance and provides a warranty on durability and load capacity.
We are considering this thermisto system for our old building renovation.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards
Thomas

I have dealt with the topic, but I am now having a classic underfloor heating installed. Milling is really expensive; better to "just" knock out the screed (have it done) and install a low-profile underfloor heating (for me 20mm PUR insulation WLG 22/23, foil with grid, 16mm pipe stapled, 45mm F5 anhydrite flow screed). Basically the same price.

Yes, I also first thought it would be more expensive. But I have an offer from a company where I actually come out quite a bit cheaper with material and milling in. Because you also save yourself the removal and disposal of the old screed.

For me, it is currently about 14,000 EUR for the new heated screed - variant including screed removal 3,000 EUR, screed disposal 1,000 EUR, material and installation of underfloor heating 6,000 EUR, material and installation of screed 4,000 EUR

And only about 7,000 EUR for the milling-in variant.

What I only wonder is, how do you then know how good the insulation of the floor (with us on the 1st floor) is?

Completely unchanged from the previous insulation. In case of doubt, you heat downwards as well. But T€ 10 sounds like a lot. What is included?

Yes, sorry, I revised it again above and broke down the costs. I even had more expensive offers for just installing the underfloor heating, about 8000 EUR for 110 sqm area. That only included the insulation, installation system, pipes, heating circuit valve, etc., but not the removal, disposal, and installation of the new screed.

Oh yes, one more note. It’s about the first floor, so it might not be so “bad” if you also heat downwards?

The company for the milling variant will carry out an on-site inspection upon commissioning, meaning they will do a few test drillings. Possibly they will then also see how much insulation is currently included?
My thought was also that when removing the screed, I don’t know what’s underneath, and disposal might be very expensive since it’s screed with insulation material. This way I could save these costs and time.

Steep price!
For me:
Removing and disposing of 120 sqm of screed about €3,000 (chipping off parquet and tiles, removing and disposing of screed. Also gutting two bathrooms, tearing down a wall. There was parquet flooring involved and lots of tiles laid in the pantry. I took old styrofoam insulation from 1967 to the recycling center – was free).
Material and installation of underfloor heating (I had already described the setup above) about €2,500 material and €1,000 installation
Material and installation of screed about €2,500 total
All invoiced. Total approx. €9k (but more effort than you). The gutting is already done, the other work is commissioned. Especially for the screed, I got quotes from different screed layers for 45mm between €18 and €22 per sqm plus taxes.

That’s why I asked about the content of your offer.

Yep.
