Clay plaster is really no longer exotic. In the field of timber frame renovation, it is almost standard.
A fairy tale is that always has to go with the flow. Our master carpenter is currently planning his own house and here, for example, clay-plastered walls. Certainly also an exotic, although not as much as a straw bale house (a topic we also briefly dealt with (as an option)). These are not all daydreamers or crackpots who plan and implement such things. These are doers! "Keep going like this" ultimately leaves a sad spot nothing for (our) children.
Treated with mice - sounds very ecological...I would still clarify what the straw bales are treated with. Mold, fire protection, mice
Sometimes it's hard to decide who is the gullible one and who is the unbeliever. That really reads like a nice fairy tale.
With consistent self-construction and purchasing many materials without markups - as I read it, I don't find that so far-fetched. Plausibility estimate: sqm price 1700€ at the time of construction 4 years ago included are 595 € labor costs (35%) of which 445€ (about 75% of labor costs) are substituted by self-work included are 765€ material costs (45%) of which 195€ are saved by omitting markups and direct purchase (about 25% savings) no cost differences for machines and others friendly architect :) sqm price = 1700 - 445 - 195 = 1060€ : Congratulations on the great house and respect for the achievement.that was rather referring to 1200 Euros per m² including 1500 m² of land. I can fool myself, I don't need this forum for that :)
In my text quoted above, I made no reference whatsoever to construction costs. In particular, I am not fooling anyone here (at most unintentionally ). Therefore, I don't understand the connection here. And it should be clear to everyone that mostly lay opinions are expressed here :p.that was rather referring to 1200 euros per m² including 1500 m² of land.
