Experiences with architects

When choosing architects, you should first take a look at which other companies or workers they collaborate with... and it’s best to include in the contract that you can choose all the employees yourself, because that way you can save money and also pick the best ones.

You should choose a company from nearby; if a business is local, it also has a reputation to lose there. With a company coming from farther away, I think you take a higher risk. Besides, there is surely someone in your city for whom they have already worked.

I have so far only heard good things from acquaintances about architects and their work. Although it sometimes became VERY expensive.

Hello! I and some acquaintances have actually always had very good experiences with architects. Occasionally an invoice has taken a very long time to arrive, but otherwise there was nothing to complain about.

If you inquire with an architect, then have them name houses they have built. Then you can already see what style they have. When I look at some houses, I wouldn't want that architect to touch my house!

I think that if you have the money to afford one, then it would be quite sensible. This way, you are free to include many small details in the construction that might be unfeasible with self-planning.
