Hello everyone,

does anyone of you happen to have installed front doors from the following manufacturers?

- Hörmann
- Rodenberger
- Kompotherm
- Hörmann
- Weru

Unfortunately, Hörmann is the only company for which an end price comes out in the online configurator (if such a thing exists at all). There we would be at about 5-6k EUR for an aluminum front door with a side window according to our taste and
- at least RC3
- best possible Ud value within the price range

Unfortunately, these two features are only listed online by very few of the companies mentioned above. Why does only Hörmann do this so offensively and transparently?

Are the other companies also in the same price range? Or are there more affordable front doors made of aluminum, RC3, and relatively well insulated?

We decided on an aluminum front door because it makes a valuable impression and should not warp even after several years (which can happen with plastic) and generally has a very long service life.

Thank you very much for your experience reports and answers.
Ludwig

We have a door from “Inotherm” in mind, you can take a look. It also seems quite good. They also have a configurator. However, the price must be requested.

Also take a look at Graute doors. The Therm 80 is available up to RC3, but is probably similarly priced.

Online configuration of aluminum (and other) front doors is therefore only possible to a limited extent in all variants because there are hardly any front door manufacturers: the panels are such a specific area of expertise that they have independent manufacturers. Sometimes the profile manufacturer and sometimes the panel manufacturer is the assembler, who sells the entire product but actually only purchases the other part. Not all manufacturers have consistent alliances with those of the other part - which is why many online configurators are incomplete or only constantly up-to-date in the bestseller areas. Practically, this means for the interested party in variants outside the mainstream that a phone inquiry often reveals compositions that the online catalog does not even know or at least does not have a current price for. With a good front door, we are often talking about five grand or more, so a personal contact is certainly worth it to the customer. "Kunde 21" or not - not all product areas have been completely online-optimized yet.

Does the RC3 make any sense for you at all? The front door is rarely the point of entry; rather, it's more often patio doors and windows. Do you have at least RC3 there as well?
Is your property that vulnerable or do you simply have an increased need for security?
Burglary protection is not limited to doors and windows, let alone just one.
Possibly a anchored safe makes more sense for irreplaceable items. Everything else in the event of damage through the insurance.
Regarding the front door, of course, it depends on the size and design. The other manufacturers are probably similar to Hörmann.

We have a front door from Kompotherm in 2200x1100 without additional elements.

It cost approximately €2,900 net in the "basic equipment". Added were

- €380 net for color of choice
- €320 net for triple glazing
- €1600 net for Fuhr motor lock and Ekey fingerprint scan
- €200 net for handles of choice
- €400 net for installation

Total therefore €5,800 net or €6,900 gross

We have no leaf coverings or RC classification. The latter I would reconsider anyway; such an aluminum front door with multiple locking points is generally probably the last point of attack for burglars, especially if the windows are not also RC3.

PS: U-value was, I think, somewhere around 1.3
