Year of construction: 2014
Construction method: Duotherm (styrofoam block system with concrete core) by and with Kern-Haus
Moisture in the house and intense sound transmission - construction problem of Duotherm!
Unfortunately, we regularly have moisture in the house.
Specifically, it appears at a window element next to the front door and flows inside in a trickle along the window. Corresponding consequential damages to wallpaper, possibly floor etc., are preprogrammed.
Unfortunately, this seems to be a construction problem of Duotherm.
Our site manager says: "Well, the water flows through the tubes that connect the Duotherm stones. It flows in somewhere and comes out somewhere else."
Consequently, Kern-Haus has so far not been able to get the problem under control.
Furthermore, the construction method is unusually loud. Presumably, the interior plaster is more intensely stimulated to structure-borne sound by the styrofoam substructure. And this is partly transmitted across several rooms. In our case, even across one floor and from one end of the house to the other.
Based on current experiences, I can unfortunately only advise against this construction principle!
