Hello everyone,

I have another bedroom in the basement that is used frequently.
Here, the builder has installed exhaust air, and in the storage room next door, he has installed supply air.

1. He says he can no longer reverse this (construction is almost complete).
2. He also said that it is not a big deal that the two rooms have been swapped.

Are both of his statements correct? I kindly ask for a prompt response, as I already have a meeting with him tomorrow morning.

Thank you very much for your help

Thank you for the reply.

This is a bedroom that is used about 5 times a week.
Why else do people say that there should always be supply air in the bedroom if it doesn't make a difference?
Regards

Theoretically, it should be possible to connect the two hoses to the opposite distribution boxes. In our case, I could easily switch one hose from supply to exhaust air. Such distribution boxes for the hoses should be present in almost every [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung]-installation, right?

What’s really bad when you can’t change it anyway?

Bad in the sense that the room wouldn’t be usable probably not. The used air is extracted, fresh air flows in through the hopefully existing overflow areas. How much volume do you drive over the valve?

However, in my opinion, it does represent a defect, you had commissioned it differently and – I hope – never approved this arrangement as it is now. Or?

If you never approved it like that, I would insist on a correction. If necessary, involve an expert or initially the HLB who installed it and let them confirm that the pipes CANNOT simply be reconnected. Then your site manager should give you an offer for appropriate compensation, because obviously he and the HLB both dropped the ball. But beware, this is a layman’s opinion! Good luck with the conversation – and please let me know how it went.
