Hi guys,
we intend to install 2 large lift/slide door elements in the living area during the house construction.
However, I am currently wondering whether it is even possible to integrate insect protection with this type.
With hinged doors, there are often these swinging doors or a retractable element. How does it look with lift/slide doors? Does anyone have experience?
Regards, David

So my manufacturer has something like this in the program, but the kids open and close the door so often that it would be a waste of money

Factory-installed or for retrofitting? We have a fire-fighting pond nearby, so that is unavoidable.. It’s teeming with insects...

Hi,
Insect screen doors are also available as sliding versions. You then slide the part in front of the fixed glazed section when you want to open it. We had one retrofitted by the window installer. However, they are also available in all kinds of online shops for custom insect screens.
The only disadvantage is that you really have to be careful not to run into it when you're in a hurry...

Ah yes, thanks for the info. I need to get some information on that. Does it take a lot of light and is it rather inconspicuous in the living space? Since we are planning 3m large elements, I am concerned that then about 1.50m is always covered with the fly screen and that it impairs the open look too much.

This is very inconspicuous (therefore the "problem" with running against it, see above) and - in our opinion - lets through almost no light at all. The fly screen is made from a different material or processed differently than the fly screens you can buy at the hardware store or similar to stick in front of the window.
