now after long consideration I have one more question about the swelling paste:

a small bathroom gets a floating screed, which is sealed in the corners/joints - as usual - with foil.
the idea to fill the expansion joint (under the foil) between the wall and the screed with such a swelling paste makes sense to me.
if the foil should not be tight, the paste still fits. ;)

in your opinion, is it useful for a "layman" to deal with this idea, or is it - as you say - only for professionals?

maybe it would also be sensible, instead of the swelling paste (of which I found a few different ones on the internet under "swelling paste"), to simply spread a rubber (silicone?) seal between screed and wall? (the idea just occurred to me) that would also be a second "protection" ...

Well, you can also apply swelling paste without specialist background knowledge of sealing technology!
The swelling paste is actually only—figuratively speaking, of course—the "suspenders" so that the pants don’t slip in an emergency.
It is also only used in the really critical areas where we have high water exposure and sealing tapes might not be sufficient on their own.
How is this to be understood: screed is "sealed with foil"?

uh The technical terms unfortunately often don't come to mind. What I mean is, the sealing is done as is common in bathrooms. A waterproof foil is glued on the surfaces and in the corners where moisture is to be expected. Yes, the swelling material would be a double protection. I am always cautious with water because I have had "leakage" several times.

In bathrooms, depending on water exposure, a screed is provided with an alternative waterproofing (liquid waterproofing). Two coats are applied, whereby the first coat has a different color than the second. This way, it is visually apparent where the coverage was not "properly done." The sealing tape (to the wall) is embedded into the still wet first coat and covered with the second coat. In floating screeds, the sealing tape must be looped into the perimeter joint so that movements of the screed slab do not cause stress or even tears. But a foil as waterproofing ON screeds is unknown to me. Under screeds, yes! Perhaps it was just an unfortunate choice of words on your part.

I talked about it with my wife. She remembers it completely differently than I do ..

I do think that a dense "layer" was applied on the screed, under the tiles. The siphon was integrated right "in" this "foil." The corners toward the walls ... ... I don’t remember anymore - and thought the stuff was glued there - but it could have been different ...

I appreciate the well-meaning attempt to teach me something ;)

Some "handyman" will participate in our bathroom. Hopefully, with him, I will find a working method.

"Source paste" at least now belongs to my knowledge base, with which I can annoy the experts ...
