Hello everyone,

our house is slowly but surely taking shape and the double garage should of course not be missing here. Since we built the garage ourselves, the electrical work is also our responsibility. I don’t want to tinker with it, but I would like to know in advance what makes sense.
Chiseling cable ducts and laying the cables is doable.

In the garage I am currently considering two approaches:
Two power cables/circuits into the garage:
One circuit to which the 6 sockets, distributed in the garage, will be connected
The second circuit for two lighting circuits; one controlled by a motion detector, which depending on the brightness automatically turns the light in the garage on and off. (Access to the house through the garage possible) And one light switch that switches a constant light with several fluorescent tubes, in case you tinker with something in the garage.

Does this have to run on two circuits or is one circuit sufficient, which is distributed via a junction box?
Should a fuse box be installed in the garage or is it secured with the house fuse box?

Thanks and regards
Georg

Do you know an electrician or do you have to hire a company? I would take a total of three circuits. Sockets, lights, and definitely power electricity 32A.

With the fuse box, you can also do it as you wish. Either in the house or a sub-distribution in the garage

What does your electrician who is doing the house say? I am pointing out [NAV §13].

I would install a supply line for the garage with the appropriate cross-section (3-phase) and install a sub-distribution board in the garage.

Whether 3~16A or 3~32A is used is debatable. However, the costs for 32A should only be slightly higher. Considering electric vehicles, one should allow themselves that small luxury.

I am an electrician myself and have 2x16A and 1x32A in the garage. I have secured the sockets on 3 circuits and the lighting on a separate circuit. Lighting and sockets are also on separate RCDs (FIs).

However, anyone who never wants to connect electric motors from log splitters or other 3-phase devices will find it difficult to install more than a 3G1.5mm² if they only want a little power and lighting.

Our electrician laid an underground cable from the fuse box in the utility room to the garage, which was fed through the wall at the very bottom inner corner, then installed two moisture-proof sockets with two corresponding light switches plus two fluorescent tubes from this cable in the garage. I have only installed 2 circuits: one [Starkstrom] and one normal. All phases separated in the fuse box with an RCD switch.
