Makes sense, I think, and having one socket switchable is quite practical if the use case fits. We used the regular plugs, the little bit that sticks out is anyway the piece that should keep the cabinet away from the wall. That's about 5-10cm at the beginning.

Furniture should be placed at a distance from the wall. Otherwise, I am also in favor of two power outlets (in this case).

Opinions do differ on that, but I think you're right. How often does one really rearrange their furniture! That's probably why people say "power outlets in every corner of the room." That way, you're prepared for every eventuality. Of course, it's nicer to have all power outlets ideally placed at the furniture, but unfortunately, that's not feasible to plan...

I have already received the tip about switchable sockets, but I still don't see the point... I was told it's practical for a floor lamp, so you don't have to walk over in the dark. But then I always have to make sure the floor lamp is switched on for the concept to work, and I may only ever turn it off with the extra switch and never at the lamp itself, which again could lead to some walking around...

That works if it is the main light or the switch is hard to reach. So you enter the room and want light. Then you press the switch and the light turns on, when you leave again you turn the light off. Why should you then turn off the light at the lamp itself?

Then the question about the outlet "behind the dresser" becomes unnecessary here, since you have to leave a strand visible anyway
