During yesterday's visit to our construction site, two things caught my attention:
- The formwork boards for the ground floor ceiling were fixed with nails driven from the inside out. All nails protrude about 2 cm with the tip out of the board. If you are careless, you can scrape your skin anywhere.
- A very wide scaffold was set up, consisting of planks laid side by side. Between the two boards there is the scaffolding frame and a 30 cm gap. It looks a little as if two scaffolds had been placed next to each other. This is certainly comfortable for working, but if you step into the gap between the boards, you won't fall off, but you can injure yourself and perhaps break a leg or something.
Now I am wondering to what extent I am responsible as the client and should/must take measures to remedy this. We have contracted the work to a developer. Should I just let him work and hope he knows what he is doing, formally point this out to him, or demand corrective measures?
