Drywall on OSB boards, cracks?

My question concerns very precisely ONLY people who have specific Erfahrungen with drywall on OSB. :)

The processing of the drywall on the OSB panels largely depends on what you want to do with the drywall. Will wallpaper or just paint be applied? If non-woven fabric is applied, I see less risk than if it is only painted. Cracks due to tension cannot be completely avoided. Actually, the combination of OSB and drywall is not a problem. However, with your house it is. Firstly, the attic, and secondly, the wooden structure. This will move. Crack formation is therefore inevitable here. For that reason, I would apply crack-bridging fabric on the drywall.

I have had such a combination for 15 years. When wallpaper is applied, no cracks are visible. With textured plaster, only in the corners, depending on the season. Fiberboards are even better than regular gypsum boards. However, I have a timber-framed extension on an old stone house.

Why one does not comply with summer thermal insulation in the roof, I will never understand, but as described, the OSB board will absorb the water vapor. Depending on how much accumulates, the wood will start to swell, which can lead to cracks in the GK.

yes and no, the OSB quality determines whether it is vapor-tight or not. To my knowledge, OSB 4 (glue content is higher) is vapor-tight, partly also OSB 3. So it is approved as a vapor barrier. OSB 1 and 2 are not vapor-tight. As always, just layman knowledge, please verify more precisely yourself.
