Hello everyone,
the interior doors have been installed in our new house. The measurements were taken before the tiler came. The walls were then tiled halfway up, which meant the door frame no longer fit because it was too narrow. The installer then planed part of the door frame but could not go further due to stability.
We now have a large gap between the door frame and the wall. Acoustically a disaster, you couldn’t install a door with the same effect either. The company refuses a replacement, claiming the fault lies with us. Regardless of who is to blame, I will take care of it myself.
How can I improve the sound insulation? Install a joint filling profile and smooth it over with silicone (see pictures) plus foam it out fully with construction foam or something similar?
