Does a tenant have to tolerate new TV cables (surface-mounted)?

But that has more to do with the signal strength. It's not like with electricity, where too many consumers can cause damage; in the worst case, the picture in the second room is simply weaker. An amplifier can possibly also be installed in the apartment – two cables from the main distributor into the apartment only make sense to me if different data/channels are fed into the cables and you absolutely don't want one in the other room. It only makes sense to me if you want to bill separately, for example in the case of subletting/shared flat or commercial use.

But to be honest, I'm not a hardcore TV watcher – if someone stole my TV, I probably wouldn't notice for at least a week.

Best regards

Hello BauPaar

Certainly, TV reception can also be wireless. That would be the most elegant solution. Install the device on the wall where the cable comes out. That would be the more elegant solution both visually and cost-wise.
Alternatively, you can have the cables installed concealed in the wall. The effort is not that big. Then plaster, paint, or wallpaper neatly. If the wallpaper is still new, a professional (I have done this myself) can partially remove the wallpaper and reattach it after plastering. It is almost invisible.
With a little thought and initiative, something like this can be solved.
I once rented out a property myself. To a noblewoman. What she demanded, unbelievable. I then parted ways with both. The noblewoman and the apartment. Tying up capital without receiving a return makes no sense.
Your own fault that with today's legal situation no one wants to create living space anymore.

well, any solution with its own capital investment is more expensive than what is done by the landlord (free of charge for the tenant) - we have now come to an arrangement and are curious about the nailing in the bedroom - they will hardly glue the cable...

let’s see if the installers simply provide a 2nd cable, that would be the simplest solution compared to a 2nd socket :/

and the Oscar goes to - nah, nobody deserved that...

They seriously wanted/should have attached the socket to the cable shaft (former chimney) and then throw about 10m of connection cable behind the bed - but thanks to the intervention of the present *ahem* supervisor that didn't happen, now there's a socket in the corner (with connection cable through the wall, ok), and the path to it is realized with surface-mounted cable conduit (!) - attaching the cable directly wasn't possible because the cable clamps were in the other car....... heroes of labor :/

Ok, you have to live with it, time for a new build
